ORIGINAL TAPESTRY PURSE
This purse I designed and sewed myself, it's one-of-a-kind
It's made of durable tapestry fabric trimmed with Commander cloth and lined with high-quality satin.
After completing the purse, I decided to make a makeup case to match.
It's made of the same tapestry fabric.
GREEN VELVET DRESS FOR BABY GIRL
This dress was made for a friend to give as a Christmas gift.
The white embroidered taffeta under dress is removable and could be worn on its own.
These summer skirts I made for myself, one of them from the same tapestry fabric as the purse and makeup case.
CHRISTENING DRESS FOR BABY BOY
It's trimmed with delicate covered buttons, soft ribbons and made of high-quality matte satin.
This dress was made from a photograph supplied by the customer.
SUMMER PURSE
This summer purse was given to me by my late mother (Jean) years ago.
I reshaped it and embellished it with beads and trims.
It's also lined with a luxurious ivory satin.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS
Most of the items I sew, get given away as gifts. A small fraction of it is actually for myself.
These Santa hat ornaments were for a friend on the Burin Peninsula.
This table cloth and napkin set were give as a Christmas gift.
Both of these sets of paper-pieced place mats (there's a another set under the paper to the left) were given as Christmas gifts.
This tree top angel was a gift for my ex husband back when we were still friends.
These Santa pot holders (with pom pom moustaches) were also a Christmas gift.
NEW SHIRTS FOR DAD
It had been years since I sewed a tailored item, but these shirts for my Dad turned out wonderfully well.
He even liked the paisley ones with red buttons, lol
PAPER-PIECED TREE SKIRT FOR MYSELF
This beautiful tree skirt is a redesign of an existing pattern.
The gold lame adds some sparkle to the quilting fabrics.
What you don't see until it's finished, is the sections between the poinsettias for a white Christmas tree, lol
CANADIAN FLAGS FOR CANADA DAY
The day before Canada Day, I decided I wanted flags. So I got out my poly taffeta (it sounds wonderful rustling in the breeze) and got to work.
Four medium-sized flags for my porch and three for car antennas (two as gifts) and one ...
SLIGHTLY larger one, lol ...
... for my front lawn.
BELLY DANCE COSTUMES
I started with a plain black lace bra, and started beading ...
... a repeat of two gold and one red seed bead until all the swirls in the lace pattern were completed, and then ...
... the same repeat beginning with a gold teardrop bead on each strand of the beaded fringe. It took a long while, but it was actually relaxing to string this beaded fringe.
I still have some more beading to add to cups, but the fringe turned out beautifully.
This lace bra wasn't as tedious to bead as it's decorated with larger bridal beads and not seed beads, as was ...
... this power blue costume. I love using oblong beads in bead work and mixed with silver seed beads, they are especially nice.
FORTUNE COOKIE COIN PURSES
These were FUN to make.
I starte with a 9" circle of ultrasuede, interfaced on the back.
I sewed an invisible (cause you can't see the teeth) around the edge.
One little sliver of a dart, makes it ...
... fold just like a fortune cookie.
These were also Christmas gifts.
QUILTED PICTURE
This quilted picture was also a Christmas gift. It's paper-pieced and embellished with satin flowers and rosebuds.
TAFFETA AND SILK QUILTED CHRISTMAS BANNER
This six-panel wall hanging was made for friends in the USA as a Christmas gift.
Two of my one-of-a-kind designer pillows. The green one is silk.
TAILORED BLOUSES
My elderly Aunt was dismayed because she couldn't find blouses she liked, so I made her some.
PILLOW CASES
Quilting fabric makes wonderful pillow cases.
